Rachels Projects Foundation and Trans-e-motion are now looking into starting up a Transition Fund for helping to cover the cost of transition and SRS/GRS for those who do not have a job, insurance, and/or assests because of abusive bigotry. FINALLY! I am going for my SRS. On Sunday, May the 15th, 2011, I will be flying to Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, for my second birthday. May 17 is my birthday and my second birthday. Dr. Sherman Leis will be providing Sexual Reassignment Surgery at The Transgender Center Clinic (www.thetransgendercenter.com) and Bucks County Hospital. The recovery is 12 days. I will be returning on Monday, May 30, 2011.
I will need $500.00 when I send the application and release forms in plus air fare. The total cost quoted is $20,175.00. I am going to probably need some help in raising this amount. I am going to try to use my California Unemployment Insurance or a job (hopefully), begging, friends (watch out here I come), yard sales, sewing projects, crafts projects, sales on Craigs List or ebay, recycles (alluminum cans and plastic bottles), and any other means anyone can suggest for fundraising.
